TN
That U.S. opportunity is worth a conversation. Explore professional work through the TN pathway.
Important gaps often begin with a question nobody asked the other side. Hypothetical example: an agri-retailer’s crop advisor accepts a US position without asking what share of it is selling rather than advising; a farm corporation assumes an American affiliate counts as a related company without asking who holds the shares; and a buyer signs an asset purchase without asking what happens to the money if the application is refused. This edition sets out, category by category, what a Stirling-Rawdon applicant should ask before agreeing to anything: of a prospective employer, of a seller, of the family company’s accountant, and of any adviser who says the route is straightforward.

Stirling-Rawdon is in rural Hastings County, and this edition draws its labelled hypothetical examples from farming, agri-services, licensed trades and small manufacturing. Nothing about United States immigration law changes between one township and the next, since it is federal law; what differs from place to place is which questions turn out to matter, and here the examples focus on ownership of family companies, seasonal and contract work, and credentials earned years ago.
Choose what brings you here. Leave with a short list of things to discuss—not another long form to fill out.
A listed profession must match the work actually performed, not the title on the offer.

Write the questions down before the conversation, because the useful ones sound blunt in the moment and are easy to skip. Ask an employer what proportion of the job is the professional work described and what proportion is something else. Ask a seller which payments become non-refundable and on what date. Ask the family company's accountant who legally owns each entity and whether the ownership has changed in the last three years. Ask any adviser which official source supports what they have just told you. The answers, in writing, become the evidence; the absence of an answer is itself a finding worth having early.

A practical plan.
No promises we can’t keep.
Write out what has to be asked of the employer, the seller, the accountant or the adviser, and ask it in writing.
Set each answer beside the payroll, the share register, the bank statements or the contract that should confirm it.
Where an answer and a record disagree, resolve it before filing rather than explaining it afterwards.
Resignations, relocation, school registration and US work wait for the required status; deposits and leases follow the category-specific commitment rules, which may place them before filing or approval.
Once the answers are in, put the steps in an order that does not require anyone to act on faith. Evidence comes first, followed by the category-specific sequence: an E-2 or EB-5 case may require funds to be irrevocably committed before filing or approval, while US work and the move wait for the necessary status. Do not resign from a Belleville job or hand in notice on a rented farmhouse until the permission that makes the move work exists, and do not wire a deposit until its commitment and refund terms have been reviewed against the chosen category. Where a planting or harvest season creates a real deadline, name it out loud and decide whether it moves or the plan does, since compressing the evidence to meet a date can produce a request for more of it at the worst moment.
Find your pathwayShneur Herman, Jo Kubti and Alexander Paton advise Stirling-Rawdon households remotely, by message or video; there is no office here and no in-person appointment to book. The first meeting is usually spent drawing up the list of questions for the other side rather than filling in forms, and you should expect to be told plainly when an answer you have been given does not match what the category requires. This edition is general information about preparing these applications and does not guarantee any result in any case.

What the day-to-day duties actually are, in proportions. A listed profession has to match the work performed, and a role that is half advisory and half commission sales raises a question that is far cheaper to answer before an offer letter is drafted.
Who owns each entity, on paper, today. A qualifying relationship between the companies is the foundation of any intracompany petition, and it is proved by share registers and agreements rather than by the fact that the same family runs both.
Which payments are refundable, when each becomes binding, and whether any loan is secured against the assets of the business being purchased. Those answers decide how much of the price counts as capital genuinely at risk.
Which official source says so. A statement that can be traced to a government page, regulation or statute can be checked; one that cannot should be treated as an opinion and weighed accordingly.
